SWB402 Social Work Field Education 2A

Social work students are required to demonstrate proficiency in applying knowledge and skills in complex real world situations. The combined SWB402/403 unit makes up the final practicum experience of 500 hours, building on the experience gained in the first practicum. Students must successfully demonstrate skills, knowledge, and professional attributes necessary for safe, high quality and ethical practice in accordance with the AASW Practice Standards and Code of Ethics. This unit provides students with the opportunity to undertake professional practice. Through the application of consolidated knowledge and skills gained through the course you will develop your identity as an emerging critically reflective social work practitioner. Tasks and responsibilities are completed under the guidance and direction of a social work supervisor and supported through university liaison visits and workshops.
