IFN701 Project 1

This unit enables you to carry out a research based project by applying an accepted method that leads to the testing of knowledge claims or the generation of new knowledge or theory in a specific domain of knowledge or context. The project addresses a research question or a practical problem through the application of IT theories, tools and techniques. It allows you to apply the knowledge of the research skills and practices used to undertake specific research activities. It provides an opportunity to individualize your studies by concentrating on a specific problem domain.

For Australian citizens, permanent visa holders and permanent humanitarian visa holders, and New Zealand citizens, who study this unit:
  • as part of a QUT course and are not eligible for a Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
  • as part of a QUT course during Summer Semester
  • as a cross-institutional student who does not have a Commonwealth supported place at their home university
  • as a single-unit study student.

Prerequisites
IFN600 and completion of 48cp in the current masters course including one '600' series unit in the area of the project.
