To meet the challenge of inspiring ongoing support for organisations, practitioners should base their decisions on the principles of fundraising, underpinned by theory and evidence from the growing body of literature in this area. This unit applies theories of marketing, public relations and management, economics, psychology, sociology and ethics to fundraising and development, and builds an understanding of the philanthropic environment and donor perspectives. It examines the principles of fundraising/development, institutional readiness, case preparation, leadership, constituencies and fundraising markets to build understanding of the context in which ethical practice occurs. The knowledge gained in this unit forms the basis of further studies into fundraising activities.","title-full":"GSN488 Fundraising Development Principles","title-short":"Fundraising Development Principles","url":{"current":"https://qutvirtual4.qut.edu.au/group/student/enrolment/units/unit?unitCode=GSN488&year=2022","prospective":"https://www.qut.edu.au/study/unit?unitCode=GSN488","timetable":"https://qutvirtual3.qut.edu.au/qvpublic/ttab_unit_search_p.process_teach_period_search?p_unit_cd=GSN488"},"year":2022,"years":[2022]}
