It builds upon prior knowledge (Influence and Persuasion) to further understand the role and function of rhetoric in contemporary society. Examples of advanced rhetoric in action are drawn from technical, political and business communication, and other fields. Rhetoric—the process of crafting written and spoken messages for specific audiences to inform, persuade, or achieve action—is a fundamental element of all forms of Professional Communication. Its practitioners need to be conversant with rhetorical topics, tools, techniques and analytical frameworks to be able to create sophisticated communication artefacts that inform, persuade and instruct depending on the specifics of audience and context.","title-full":"CWB202 Rhetoric: Public Communication Skills","title-short":"Rhetoric: Public Communication Skills","url":{"current":"https://qutvirtual4.qut.edu.au/group/student/enrolment/units/unit?unitCode=CWB202&year=2022","prospective":"https://www.qut.edu.au/study/unit?unitCode=CWB202","timetable":"https://qutvirtual3.qut.edu.au/qvpublic/ttab_unit_search_p.process_teach_period_search?p_unit_cd=CWB202"},"year":2022,"years":[2022]}
