The students will be introduced to among other concepts in the water and wastewater treatment industry disinfection, filtration, ion exchange, adsorption and desalination. Complementary theory regarding mass and heat transfer operations will also be used to ultimately provide a comprehensive overview of water treatment and chemical processes. This unit aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industrial practice. Examples relating to key industries such as the coal seam gas, mining, manufacturing and wastewater sectors will be provided and cutting edge problems discussed. Students will learn the key skills which industry expects graduates to possess in order to rapidly integrate into project teams.","title-full":"CVB221 Unit Operations","title-short":"Unit Operations","url":{"current":"https://qutvirtual4.qut.edu.au/group/student/enrolment/units/unit?unitCode=CVB221&year=2022","prospective":"https://www.qut.edu.au/study/unit?unitCode=CVB221","timetable":"https://qutvirtual3.qut.edu.au/qvpublic/ttab_unit_search_p.process_teach_period_search?p_unit_cd=CVB221"},"year":2022,"years":[2022]}
