Podiatry at QUT is rewarding in more ways than one, with excellent employment outcomes for graduates.
Already have a degree in a health-related field and want to become a podiatrist? Fast track your learning with our Bachelor of Podiatry (Graduate Entry).
You will complete 1,000 hours of clinical practice during this degree, with hands-on experience beginning in second year.
Work in the purpose-built QUT Health Clinics on campus, which features one of the largest podiatry practices in Australia.
The QUT Podiatry Clinic offers services in:
You’ll treat patients who are also accessing other professional health services in the clinic, such as optometry and dietetics. This multi-disciplinary approach offers insight into the complexity of patients and how knowledge from many professions can contribute to a care program that leads to better health outcomes.
Off-campus placements include specialist and general podiatry clinics, and community outreach activities where you’ll provide advice and treatment to people who may not otherwise seek professional advice about a condition.
Our clinic is equipped with leading industry equipment and offers a learning experience that is only available at QUT. You will access new technology that is improving diagnosis and treatment in podiatric practice globally. Key pieces include:
We were the first provider of a podiatry degree in Queensland.
Our teaching and clinical staff are registered, practising podiatrists who maintain links with the profession, via research and consultancy work, to ensure our courses are up-to-date and relevant.
You’ll learn from their significant experience in general and specialist areas of podiatry, and in complementary disciplines including medicine, physiotherapy, bioscience, and pharmacy.
The Bachelor of Podiatry offers an honours pathway to students at the end of their second year of study. This allows you to complete an honours research project that extends your knowledge of the professional field, offering a competitive advantage in your career.
The majority of our research is conducted through the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation (IHBI). Encompassing prevention, intervention, and translation, IHBI is focused on ensuring better health becomes a reality in our lifetime.
Our key areas of research strength include diabetes and high-risk patients, and footwear development.
Our undergraduate courses are professionally accredited by the Australasian and New Zealand Podiatry Council.
