Financial support

Managing your money while studying can be challenging. Our welfare officers can help you manage your finances and access financial support, such as Equity Emergency Bursaries, and Equity Work Integrated Learning Bursaries.

We can help you plan and manage your own career, assist with course uncertainty, and help clarify your vision for the future through online resources and in-person drop-in sessions.

To prepare you for the real world, you can get assistance with job searching techniques, investigate career options and explore your employability through networking, resume writing and more.

During your course, you can complete for-credit work experience and access industry-specific events and programs that put you in charge of your future.

You can also find part-time or casual work through QUT’s UniHub and speak with trained students who are available for chats about university challenges and career opportunities.

Leadership and personal growth

We understand that to be successful in your studies and personal growth, you need to know what you’re working towards, have a clear set of goals, and a peer community around you.

You can get involved in workshops, conferences and activities for personal and professional development to enhance your university experience, and prepare you for success in the real world.

LGBTIQA+ support

We’re proud to support our staff and students who identify as lesbian; gay; bisexual; transgender; intersex; queer or questioning; asexual, agender or aromantic; and those with other diverse genders and sexualities (LGBTIQA+). Our Ally network provides support, safe zones, services, events, information and resources to the QUT community.

You’ll be able to access counselling, medical services and specialist health clinics that can help you with any health concerns.

Health services

If you need medical care, information or advice, you can visit the QUT Medical Centre. They cover general medicine, men's and women's health, travel medicine, immunisations, sexual health, mental health and skin checks.

Our QUT Health Clinics also offers free or low-cost appointments in nutrition and dietetics, exercise and movement, optometry, podiatry, and psychology and counselling.

International students on student visas must have valid Overseas Student Health Cover to access healthcare in Australia.

Religion and spirituality

We have mulitfaith chaplaincy centres for students of all faiths. Our bookable spaces, prayer rooms, student clubs and pastoral care are available to all students.
