What you'll receive

You'll receive:

• QUT Elite Sport Scholarships are valued up to $10,000, paid over two years.

QUT Sport Scholarships include additional benefits, including:

• membership to the Elite Athlete Program
• membership to QUT's College of Excellence
• access to personal and professional development opportunities
• access to nutrition and sports psychology services and more.

If you receive a QUT Elite Sport Scholarship you will receive automatic entry into the QUT Elite Athlete Program.

Eligibility

How to apply

You'll need to verify selection, results and achievement in your sporting CV. You must provide:

• an overview of events competed at in reverse chronological order (e.g. 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, etc) including placing and results
• copies of your team selection letters (on official letterhead)
• references from your state or national sporting organisation.

Athletes who have not represented at state or national level should provide two references from relevant persons who can verify their current level of performance.

Complete the online application and attach all relevant support documentation. Late documentation will not be considered.

By submitting this application, you will also be considered for the QUT-AIS Scholarship.

What happens next?

We'll make scholarship offers from February 2024.

Due to the large volume of applications received, we'll only notify students who are successful in being offered a scholarship. We won't consider appeals for unsuccessful applications. All decisions are final and based on the original application submitted.

Conditions

To keep your QUT Elite Sport Scholarship, you must:

• maintain a course grade point average (GPA) of 4.5 or higher in each semester
• remain actively engaged in your sports
• represent QUT at up to two targeted events or appearances each year, which may include:
  • speaking at QUT Sport events
  • contesting the National University Championships (if your sport is contested)
  • participating in other campus events.

You can:

• take approved leave of absence from your course in accordance with the QUT Leave of Absence policy. Scholarship payments will be suspended during periods of leave
• be a recipient of a QUT Equity Scholarship concurrently if eligible.

You can't:

• defer your scholarship offer. If you defer your course, you will need to reapply for the QUT Elite Sport Scholarship the following year
• hold another Merit scholarship concurrently with this scholarship. If you have any questions about holding other scholarships, contact us at scholarships@qut.edu.au

About the scholarship

We are proud to support elite athletes across a wide range of sports by offering sport scholarships annually for both new and existing students.

Sport scholarships are spread over a number of categories to support athletes at all levels of performance. This includes talented sports people who are still developing and progressing in their chosen sport all the way through to high-performance level athletes representing Australia at national and international levels.
