What happens next?

ACPNS is committed that its commencing students be given every opportunity to hear about this scholarship and apply. Many students learn of this opportunity for the first time at the pre-course intensive weekend. Applications therefore close in Week 1 of the teaching period (6TP2).

We are also committed to notifying candidates of the outcome of their application prior to 6TP2 census date (the final date to withdraw without financial penalty) so that students who are in financial hardship can make informed decisions about their enrolment. This means the timeframe between the close of applications, interviews and being notified of the outcome is tight.

Our panel will shortlist applications based on the selection criteria. If you're shortlisted, we'll invite you to attend an interview with the selection panel. Interviews are currently booked for Wednesday 17th March, 2021.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome no later than 5pm Thursday 18th March 2021. We will send you a written confirmation of the outcome of your application, whether it is successful or unsuccessful.

The scholarship only applies to foundation (GSN) units and only to units not yet completed by the recipient when the scholarship is awarded.

About the scholarship

Founded in 2001 by Myles McGregor-Lowndes, the Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies (ACPNS) aims to bring to the community the benefits of teaching, research, technology and service relevant to philanthropic and nonprofit communities. The establishment of ACPNS consolidated many years of teaching and research in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors and recognised QUT’s leadership in the field in Australia.

The Myles McGregor-Lowndes Scholarship was established by Myles in 2017 to mark his transition to retirement, in the hope of continuing his tradition of investing in students with the goal of fostering tomorrow’s community’s leaders.

This scholarship aims to assist future ACPNS students to fund the cost of their studies.
