About the scholarship

The Max Day Environmental Science Fellowship Award is an annual award to assist PhD students and early-career researchers in their research. It provides funding support toward the costs of travel, courses or research, or to supplement PhD scholarships with necessary top-up funding.

The award is named in honour of Dr Maxwell Frank Cooper Day AO FAA, who is the longest serving Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science and who has spent a lifetime championing entomology, conservation and forestry, and helping other scientists.
