What you'll receive

The Deloitte Indigenous Internship is a paid 8 week placement program, based in our Brisbane office, providing university students with professional capabilities and work experience in their field of study.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this program you must be:

  • a permanent resident of Australia
  • of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
  • enrolled in tertiary studies as at the census date
  • able to demonstrate a grade point average of 4
  • able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills
  • a team player with an innovative approach to work and life
  • able to demonstrate motivation for continuous learning and development
  • able to maintain an appropriate study load and grade point average as determined by your respective university.

You'll be highly regarded if you also display:

  • good communication and interpersonal skills
  • involvement in extra-curricular activities
  • an innovative approach to work and life and are a dynamic team player
  • motivation for continuous learning and development.

Applicants must attach documentary evidence of additional material that they believe will support their Internship application. These should include:

  • a cover letter detailing
    o motivations for applying for the internship
    o how the internship will further support the applicants academic and career goals
    o what qualities and attributes (e.g. community involvement, career aspiration, other interests) the applicant will bring to Deloitte; and
    o what goals the applicant will look to achieve as a result of participating in the Deloitte Indigenous Internship program
  • current resume/curriculum vitae
  • current Academic Transcript
  • certified copy of documentation supporting your Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage (either a Confirmation of
    Aboriginality OR statutory declaration)
  • proof of work rights (Passport or Birth Certificate)

What happens next?

Once the selection process is complete, you'll be notified in writing of the outcome of your application. If your application is successful, you'll be called before receiving a formal, written notification.

Conditions

If successful, you will need to enter into a binding agreement with the Oodgeroo Unit at QUT, which specifies the conditions of your internship. These conditions require you to:

  • maintain a 4.0 grade point average
  • submit results and confirmation of continued enrolment promptly at the end of each semester
  • defer for no more than 12 months during the study period (if applicable)
  • maintain active communication with the Oodgeroo Unit, QUT at all times
  • attend the official Internship presentation ceremony
  • give consent to photographs being taken for the purposes of promotional activities including media, webpages by the Oodgeroo Unit, QUT and Deloitte.

About the scholarship

The Deloitte Indigenous Internship is a paid 8 week placement program, based in our Brisbane office, providing university students with professional capabilities and work experience in their field of study.

Penultimate year students studying a Bachelor’s degree with majors / minors in Management, Economics, International Business, Technology, Psychology, Accounting, Finance, Science, Mathematics, Law or Management are encouraged to apply.

At Deloitte, we provide the right kinds of tools and training to ensure our interns can achieve career success through mentoring, coaching, peer support and well being benefits. Interns will be eligible to apply for a Graduate position upon completion of the internship.

No prior work experience is required, however we do seek candidates with passion and drive that are looking to further develop a career in Professional Services.
