What you'll receive

You'll receive a scholarship of $5,000 for one year.

Eligibility

You must be one of the following:

  • an Australian citizen (including dual citizens)
  • a permanent resident of Australia
  • a permanent humanitarian visa holder
  • a New Zealand citizen.

You must also be:

  • from a low-income background
  • experiencing financial hardship
  • enrolled in or applying for an undergraduate degree in engineering (e.g., Bachelor of Engineering [Honours]).

What happens next?

All applications are assessed against selection criteria. We allocate scholarships based on need. Students with the greatest need will receive the highest value scholarships.

About the scholarship

The Alex Muir Learning Potential Fund scholarship was established by Dr Christopher and Mrs Dymphna Muir in loving memory of their son Alex. The scholarship is awarded to disadvantaged students studying engineering to assist them to reach their potential through education.
