Meet our speakers

Rajy Xavier

After completing her Master degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Rajy worked as an assistant professor in the department of electronics and communication engineering for 5 years in an Indian engineering college. She wanted to understand and gain further insight in adult learning and teaching strategies while upgrading her skills in educational leadership and management. Rajy is currently completing a Master of Education at QUT majoring in Leadership and Management and Inclusive Education.

Ms Melinda Nimmo

Ms Melinda Nimmo has a long background in Education. Working as an English language teacher for approximately 15 years both in Australia and overseas, Melinda also obtained her Master of Education (TESOL) from QUT. Her most recent teaching role was as a teacher trainer on international short course programs within the university. In 2010, Melinda moved into her current role of representing the faculty internationally, where she shares information on Education courses. Given her background she has a great knowledge of the faculty and its courses.

Dr. James Davis

Dr James Davis has a career background spanning commerce, science and education. As Faculty Entrepreneurship Leader, he recently embedded entrepreneurial thinking into the Faculty of Education in teaching, professional development and research. James lectures in STEM education, teacher leadership, and enterprise education for school improvement and student learning. Currently, his research focuses on how people learn through social interaction, and the influence of emotions, relationships and identity in learning.
