TSXPO (Tertiary Studies Expo), Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 July 2018

Participation and eligibility

  1. Participating in this Competition constitutes an acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  2. Competition participants must:
    1. Be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia or New Zealand; and
    2. attend the QUT stand at TSXPO to be held at the Royal International Conventions Centre, on Saturday Saturday 21 July and/or Sunday 22 July 2018; and
    3. fully complete and submit the official entry form supplied by the Promoter and place the entry form in the entry box provided by the Promoter at the QUT stand at TSXPO between 10.00am‐4:00pm AEST on Saturday 21 July 2018 or between 10:00am‐4.00pm AEST on Sunday 22 July 2018.
  3. Current employees and students of the Promoter are not eligible to enter this Competition.
  4. The Promoter reserves the right to, at any time, verify the eligibility of a participant and to disqualify any participant who does not meet the eligibility requirements set out in these Terms and Conditions. If there is a dispute as to the eligibility of a participant, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the eligibility of the participant.
  5. If a participant is under the age of 18 years, he or she will be deemed to have obtained the permission of his or her parent or guardian to participate in the Competition and for the Promoter to use his or her entry as set out in these Terms and Conditions.
  6. Only one entry into the Competition is permitted per person. A person must not submit multiple entries.
  7. No responsibility is accepted by the Promoter for late, lost or misdirected entries.
  8. Incomplete, indecipherable, or illegible entries will be deemed invalid.
  9. All entries become the property of the Promoter.

Prize and prize draw

  1. There will be one prize and one winner of the prize.
  2. The Promoter will select a winner by a random draw which will take place at QUT's Marketing and Communication's Department, F block, Victoria Park Road, Kelvin Grove, Brisbane on Wednesday 25 July 2018 at 12.00pm AEST.
  3. The first valid entry drawn by the Promoter at random will win a prize of one (1) x $500 Apple Store Online Gift Voucher, valued at AUD$500.
  4. The prize winner does not have to be present at the time or place of the prize draw.
  5. The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
  6. The Promoter's decision as to the winner of the prize is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into in relation to the conduct of the Competition, the prize draw, or otherwise.
  7. The Promoter will use reasonable efforts to notify the winner by email within 48 hours of the drawing time, using the email address supplied on the Competition entry form. If despite the Promoter’s reasonable efforts, as determined by the Promoter, the Promoter is unable to contact the winner using the details supplied on the winning entry form, or if the winner does not respond to communication from the Promoter by 5.00pm AEST on Wednesday 22 August 2018 (a) the Promoter does not accept responsibility for the inability of the Promoter to make contact with the winner; and (b) another winner will be drawn at random by the Promoter and notified in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
  8. The prize will be sent via email to the email address supplied by the prize winner on their Competition entry form.
  9. Apple is not a participant in or sponsor of this Competition.
  10. If the prize is unavailable, the Promoter, in its absolute discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize with a prize of equal value and/or specification.
  11. A participant claiming to be a prize winner must provide proof of identity, if required by the Promoter. The prize winner may also be required to sign a document indicting they have received the prize.

General terms

  1. Where applicable, the Promoter accepts no responsibility for any failure of internet connections, server outages or mobile network outages that may occur in relation to attempts by any participant and/or any prize winner for any purpose arising out of or in connection with the Competition (including without limitation attempts to submit a Competition entry form, or to validate and/or use a prize).
  2. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any participant who (a) submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions; or (b) who tampers with the entry process. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
  3. If the use of the prize is subject to the terms and conditions of a third party, any issues or disputes arising in relation to those terms and conditions must be directed to that party and the Promoter has no responsibility for resolving such issues or disputes.
  4. The Promoter may, but is not obliged to, publish the results of the Competition. Unless otherwise advised by the participant, by entering this Competition, participants agree to the Promoter publishing their name as the winner.
  5. If this Competition is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as anticipated by the Promoter due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by the law to: (a) disqualify any participant; or (b) to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Competition, as appropriate.
  6. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity), whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Competition, including but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner or participant; or (f) use of the prize.
  7. Each participant indemnifies and keeps indemnified the Promoter against all claims, losses, damages and expenses suffered by the Promoter or any third parties arising out of the breach of these terms and conditions by the participant, the conduct of the participant in the Competition or the use of the prize.
  8. Where applicable, the manufacturer or supplier of the prize is not a participant in, or a promoter or sponsor of, this Competition.
  9. The Promoter reserves the right at any time, at its sole discretion, to change these Terms and Conditions.

Privacy Notice

Under the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld), the Promoter must tell participants when it collects personal information about them and how it plans to use it. If a participant chooses to enter or take part in the Competition, the participant will be required to provide the Promoter with personal information such as the participant’s name, postcode, address, email address, mobile phone number, citizenship or residency status and study preferences. The Promoter will collect participants’ personal information in order to: (a) carry out the Competition; and (b) to send information and future promotional communications to the participant. If the participant would prefer the Promoter does not use the participant’s details in the way outlined in these Terms and Conditions, the participant should contact the Promoter. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Promoter.
