QUT High School Student Engagement has a range of health and safety practices in place to protect the health and wellbeing of all visitors to campus. You will receive all relevant safety information as part of our communication to schools about your visit. If you have any questions email highschool.workshops@qut.edu.au.

General requirements

A class must be accompanied by at least one school staff member, who must remain with the school group at all times while you're on campus. The staff member will be responsible for the welfare and behaviour of their students.

Enclosed footwear must be worn by all staff and students participating in workshops.

Workshop safety and guidelines

  1. All workshops have a risk assessment plan (available on request) and trained facilitators will provide guidance on any safety aspects related to standard health and safety guidelines e.g. managing specialised equipment, general evacuation protocols etc.
  2. Adequate hand sanitiser is available in the workshop room as well as access to handwashing and toilet facilities.
  3. All benches, tables and equipment are cleaned with disinfectant before and after each workshop.
  4. Teachers and workshop facilitators will have sufficient room to maintain distance between themselves and students as required.
  5. Students and teachers may bring their own lunch and eat in the workshop room or access the private balcony to minimise contact with others (catering is also available from on-campus suppliers).

We ask that anyone feeling unwell does NOT attend our workshops.

See QUT’s advice for the QUT community for more information on COVIDSafe guidelines.
