We are particularly interested in applications from students studying Information Technology, Maths, Physics with an Astro minor, Biology and Ecology. Students in double degrees and students who have a creative or entrepreneurial flair are also sought after.
QUT’s commitment to STEM
Every year, more than 10,000 students from primary and high schools across QLD and northern NSW participate in QUT’s STEM learning development programs. Through school and campus visits, students get an up-close look into how STEM can impact their studies and career initiatives. Our STEM for Schools program is the face of on-campus STEM activities and we are currently hiring casual ambassadors to assist us in 2020.
Why be a STEM Ambassador?
You can be a part of our mission to share the importance of STEM skills and careers to high school students.
As a STEM Student Ambassador, you will assist in the presentation and delivery of the STEM for Schools workshops program; whilst supporting large multi-school event days; keeping up-to-date with skills and training; and potentially assisting with the development of new STEM program resources.
The benefits to students to undertake a STEM Ambassador role include:
- inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders

- enhancing your STEM knowledge and sharing with future students
- developing your professional identity and networks.
