Registrations for the 2019 Power of Engineering events are now open.
The QUT Power of Engineering events aim to show girls that ‘everything is possible’ in their future careers.
Teachers are invited to nominate female students in years 9 and 10 to attend this fully-funded one-day event that gives these students the chance to experience first-hand what an engineering career would be like.
Hosted at the Gardens Point campus, students are introduced to the various disciplines of engineering by our own passionate undergraduate students, the Girls in Engineering Making Statements (GEMS) group; and will be inspired by successful women currently working in the engineering profession.
They will get to put this new knowledge into practice through a series of hands-on challenging workshops held in our world-class science and engineering facilities.
In the afternoons, student groups will get to go "on site" and tour a Brisbane industry location where they will hear from engineering professionals about putting engineering into practice.
