FreeMeet Andy, a dynamic robotic head that can emulate human expressions.
Pneumatic artificial muscles (PAMs) driven by an actuator located at the rear of a 3D printed skull will animate Andy’s face with various facial expressions. With the application of silicone-rubber skin, the project aims to achieve a realistic-looking humanoid robotic face.
Designer Lauren Fell hopes that Andy will become a valuable new tool for training anatomy students as well as offering an effective training method to read facial expressions for those people who struggle with interpreting peoples expressions.
You can find Andy within The Hospital of the Future.
