Professor Kerrie Mengersen, Deputy Director and Chief Investigator, ARC Centre of Excellence in Mathematical and Statistical Frontiers (ACEMS). Kerrie Mengersen is an internationally renowned statistician who uses data science to solve complex problems in diverse areas including the environment, genetics, health and medicine. Professor Mengersen was a driving force behind the Australian Cancer Atlas, a cutting-edge, interactive map that offers insights into patterns of cancer diagnosis and survival. She has also worked on projects using virtual reality to predict, locate and track species, including endangered cheetahs in southern Africa, orangutans in Indonesia and jaguars in the Peruvian jungle.
