Robotronica is a one-day event happening on Sunday 18 August from 9am to 4pm.

Robotronica is held at the QUT Gardens Point campus next to Brisbane's Botanic Gardens, only a 15 - 20 minute walk from the city centre.

What is Robotronica?

Robotronica is an all-day, all-ages robotics and technology festival, revealing the latest advancements and innovations in the fields of robotics and interactive design.

Ticketing

Is Robotronica ticketed?

Most events are drop-in, however some events require you to book your place through Eventbrite. The Eventbrite links can be found on the individual event pages.

Is Robotronica free?

Robotronica is a free event, with the exception of ROBOWARS: Rebellion which requires you to purchase tickets through Eventbrite to gain entry.

How do I present my ticket?

Visitors should present an electronic or printed ticket. Please keep a record of your attendance on your phone, just in case.

I can no longer attend. Do I need to cancel my ticket?

Please cancel your ticket as we may be able to give your ticket to someone else.

What are my travel options to Robotronica?

On foot

QUT Gardens Point is a 15 – 20 minute walk from the city down George Street, or from South Bank Parklands, across the Goodwill Bridge.

Public Transport

To find out which public transport method (bus, train, ferry or CityCat) is most suitable, go to the Translink website and find the journey planner on the homepage. The journey planner is extremely easy to use; type in your address, then ‘2 George Street, Brisbane’, and it will tell you the best routes and modes of transport to travel to QUT Gardens Point campus.

Parking

Limited parking is available at the Gardens Point campus for a flat rate weekend parking tariff of $10. There are also commercial car parks within walking distance in the CBD and at Southbank.

Does Robotronica have considerations for persons with disabilities / wheelchair access?

Yes, all of QUT’s rooms are accessible. Please be aware that ‘Participant’ tickets for Inferno are not available for people with diverse access needs.

Is there accessible parking at QUT Gardens Point?

Disability parking bays are available in the Science and Engineering Centre carpark (P Block) and under the Riverside Expressway.

A taxi drop-off point is located near Parliament House, at the entry of QUT Gardens Point campus.

What food and drink will be available at Robotronica?

There are several cafes on site, QUT Bookshop and Café, The Pantry at Old Government House, Artisans, Aroma Café, Raw Press, gourmet burger bar Burger Urge or take a break from the hustle with something stronger at the Botanic Bar.

Quick dining options in the food court include Sushi Q, Lock Stock Salads, Origin KebabsGuzman Y Gomez and Subway. You’ll also find The Corner Store and UNI Pharmacy open on the day.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

Yes, you can and you can eat on the QUT Gardens Point campus, however food and drink will not be permitted inside the event venues.

Where are the nearest ATMs?

There are ATMs in the Food Court on Level 3 of the Science and Engineering Centre (P Block).

Can I volunteer at Robotronica?

Yes, if you are a QUT staff member or student please register your interest to volunteer.

Will Robotronica be photographed or recorded?

Yes, Robotronica will be documented by both photography and video recording. If you do not wish to be shown in this documentation, please let staff know upon your arrival.

Is Robotronica an all ages event?

While many events are suitable for all ages, some content may include adult themes. The age suitability of each event can be found on individual events pages on the Robotronica website.

What is the duration of each event?

Are dogs permitted at Robotronica?

Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted inside QUT Gardens Point buildings.
