Mechanical testing of total shoulder replacement implant stability

In 2020, 46,919 total shoulder replacement (TSR) procedures were conducted in Australia, a 17% increase on the previous year. At 10 years post-operation, 12.3% will require revision, with 17.3% of revisions due to implant loosening. This is a significant load on the Australian healthcare system.To reduce the risk of implant loosening, surgeons propose different techniques for attaching the glenosphere (implant) to the glenoid (bone).
