PneuMatters: Preventing early-onset pneumonia in high-risk children through maternal immunisation - a study in Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, Māori, or Pacific Islander infants

The PneuMatters study is evaluating the efficacy of a pneumococcal vaccine in preventing pneumonia in the first 12 months of life in high-risk infants whose mothers received the vaccine while pregnant. The study is being conducted in Darwin, South-East Queensland and Malaysia. Participants are recruited in antenatal clinics and are followed until the baby turns 12 months of age.Australian participants must be pregnant with infants who will be identified as either Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, Māori, or Pacific Islander.
