What do ancient granitic rocks tell about the formation of Earth's crust

The Earth is a dynamic evolving planet that has continually changed throughout its history. This change is recorded in the different rock types preserved in the continental crust and is paralleled by the evolution of life. Study of Archean granitic terranes (4.0-2.5 billion years ago) provides invaluable information on the early Earth when 50% of the present day volume of continental crust was generated. Applications of bioinformatics and statistical modelling in genomics and personalised health

Prostate cancer is one of the leading causes of mortality and is the most diagnosed cancer among men in Australia. The identification of novel biomarkers in prostate cancer could be valuable in the design of therapeutics and the identification of their molecular targets. Previous prostate cancer bioinformatic studies have recognised risk-associated genetic components as potential biomarkers.This project will apply statistical and mathematical approaches to identify novel biomarkers in prostate cancer.

Investigate, design and develop a trusted data sharing and decision making platform for enterprise applications

Blockchain technology relies on a consensus protocol to agree on the state of the system through data. Existing consensus algorithms rely on pre-defined rules, which are used to verify whether the data is obeying all the rules. This model of consensus may be suitable for broad classes of distributed and multi-stakeholder applications. Still, it does not cover applications that require consensus among human operators in the enterprise setting. This project investigates the possibility of achieving consensus through lightweight mechanisms.
