Overview

This project will be nested within a broader study, funded by the Australian Research Council, that examines how clinicians and families communicate with each other in paediatric palliative care. Through this nested higher degree by research (HDR) project, the student will gain access to a nation-wide repository of video-recordings of paediatric palliative care consultations. Using conversation analysis, the HDR project will generate foundational evidence about how clinicians and families communicate effectively with children who have life-limiting conditions. Experience with conversation analysis, or a closely related method, or a willingness to develop skills in this area is essential.
