Overview

When a system is complex, multiple models are needed to capture different aspects of a system. Different conceptual models may develop using different grammars, methods, and tools. Therefore, using multiple models to represent a complex system may result in several problems and challenges. This research aims to develop a method to improve using and developing multiple models to represent a complex domain.

Research activities

Students need to become familiar with the existing studies on conceptual modeling and understand the problems and challenges in using multiple models. Students, then, will use qualitative and quantitative approaches to explore methods practitioners can use to avoid the existing challenges and minimise the problems.

Outcomes

The outcome of this project can be a Master's thesis and/or some research journals.
