There is limited water monitoring occurring in the Gold Coast hinterland. In partnership with the City of Gold Coast, we will be setting up water monitoring networks to improve assessment and management of groundwater resources in this region.
We will investigate groundwater-surface water interactions and develop local scale numerical models for simulating these interactions.
These local scale models will be built to represent locations of the Springbrook Plateau where both groundwater and surface water monitoring is occurring.
This project will involve close collaboration with local and state governments.
The groundwater research at Springbrook will lead to improved monitoring and management of water resources.
You may be able to apply for a research scholarship in our annual scholarship round.
