Overview

There exists a number of methods for bridge deck analysis. Some examples include grillage analysis and finite element analysis.

SECAN is a software based on the semi-continuum method for bridge deck analysis. The latest version is developed using Microsoft Visual Studio. This project aims to improve the software for comparison with other bridge deck analyses.

Research activities

This project aims to improve the software for comparison with other bridge deck analyses. As part of the project you'll be involved in Windows-based programming to improve the SECAN software.

Outcomes

As a result of this project, we expect to create an improved version of SECAN. This software will perform comparative studies on a variety of bridge decks.

Skills and experience

It's expected you have some background or experience in Windows-based programming or are prepared to conduct research to learn more.

It's also expected that you're equipped with structural analysis techniques.
