Overview

Public and R&D interest and popularity in renewable energy, particularly solar photovoltaic (PV) cells, is increasing exponentially nowadays. The federal and local governments of Australia are offering rebates to attract end-users. PV installers and retailers are also offering competitive advantages on solar PV systems.

Research activities

This project aims to study the Government’s renewable energy target, current energy market trends, and market competition. Types of solar cells, their efficiency, application, and relative market share will also make a sub-section of this project. Some background work is already done on Qld state. Further review on the QLD state plus similar studies on the federal government’s initiatives and other states, particularly the UNSW, Victoria and Western Australia, is expected to be accomplished within this project.

Outcomes

This project mostly relies on a literature review. Therefore, the deliverables include the data retrieval, analysis and compilation from digital resources, report writing, and statistical analysis.

Skills and experience

Interest in PV solar system, energy market analysis, and skill in data retrieval and the compilation from digital sources.
