Overview
This project involves the setup, manipulation and testing of a novel optomechanical system. It will utilise a femtosecond-pulsed laser for nonlinear optical characterisation, cold ablation and quantum optics experiments. You will also be involved in imaging via Raman microspectroscopy, second harmonic generation (SHG) microscopy, and super-resolution microscopy.
Research activities
As part of the research project, you will perform hands-on equipment setup and manipulation, and take part in preliminary optics experiments.
Outcomes
We expect that the project will result in a working, tested system for advanced optics experiments, and some preliminary (hypothesis generation) work towards those experiments.
