Overview
Immune cells are essential in maintaining tissue homeostasis and function.
This project will will work on the interaction between immune cells and tissue forming cells aiming to regulate the processes of tissue repair and regeneration.
Research activities
The project will investigate the osteogenesis under different stages of polarisation of macrophages. This will involve 3D printing a newly developed cell culture devices to biomimetic the in vivo condition for the cellular interactions.
You can expect to develop skills in cell biology and immunology.
Outcomes
Upon conclusion of this project, we expect to establish an innovative model to study the immune cell interactions with tissue forming cells.
Skills and experience
To be considered for this project, you should have skills and/or experience with:
- engineering
- biomaterials
- cell culture.
Scholarships
You may be able to apply for a research scholarship in our annual scholarship round.
