Overview

Blockchain has received extensive attention as a revolutionary new technology that will foster business success and innovation, but is it all hype, an illusion put forward to exploit technically challenged or inexperienced businesses and investors? This research will explore the misconception that Blockchain is the solution to business digitisation and success and argue that it's popularity is driven by a tech savvy generation who are yet to fully operationalise the technology. Further, it will explore the current regulatory regime in Australia and the potential for Blockchain to allow illegal activities to thrive, rather than providing security, traceability and accountability as claimed.
