Overview

Understanding the impact that training data quality has on model generation is important for industry’s looking to engage in responsible data science.

In this project we’ll look at the use of instance space analysis for assessing the quality of training data and algorithm performance.

Research activities

You can expect to :

  • learn about instance space analysis and some of the ethical challenges associated with algorithms
  • engage with relevant industry partners
  • communicate your work in an interactive manner
  • meet regularly with your supervisor(s) to discuss ideas and research direction, as well as to receive feedback.

Outcomes

A report reviewing the literature on instance space analysis and potentially results of a small case study. These results will be used internally by the industry partner for reference and future research proposals and projects.

Skills and experience

To be considered for this project, you'll need an interest in data science methods and responsible data science. Some experience with these would be beneficial.
