QUT is among the top 20 young universities in the world in two international rankings – the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2018 announced earlier this month, and the 2019 QS Top 50 Under 50 announced overnight.

QUT is 19th in the latest QS rankings of the world’s best universities less than 50 years old, and third among Australian universities on the list, and 20th in the THE Young University Rankings of the world’s best universities 50 years or younger.

 

 

QUT rose four places from last year to join the top 20 in the THE rankings, which encompass 250 young universities, an increase from 200 universities in 2017.

 

 

The THE rankings were announced at the THE Young Universities Summit in Florida, which QUT Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Margaret Sheil AO attended.

THE has also produced its 2018 Asia-Pacific University Rankings of 250 universities across 13 nations. QUT is ranked equal 31st, up from 32nd in the 2017 inagural Asia-Pacific University Rankings list.  

QUT’s standing also rose in the QS World University Rankings 2019. The University rose three points to be placed equal 244th in the world.
