Professor Matt Brown will join QUT's Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation (IHBI) and the School of Biomedical Sciences with a university-wide role as Director of Genomics.

QUT Vice-Chancellor Professor Peter Coaldrake said Professor Brown would help coordinate QUT's current activities in genomics, developing new teaching programs and increasing public engagement in that space, as well as growing capability in genomics research.

"Professor Brown brings a stellar research track record, and we are delighted to welcome him to QUT," Professor Coaldrake said.

Professor Brown will be based at the Translational Research Institute and the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he will lead research and diagnostic efforts in clinical genomics.
