- Vice-Chancellor Professor Peter Coaldrake spoke to ABC612 Brisbane about the State Government's Advance Queensland program announcement
- Dr Martin Parkinson's address at the QUT Business Leaders' Forum received wide coverage including in the Sydney Morning Herald, Australian Financial Review and The Courier-Mail.
- Dr Stephen Hughes explained NASA's New Horizons flyby of Pluto to New Matilda and 4BC, including some of the discoveries it has made so far.
- Research by Professor John Bell and Dr Wendy Miller showing a special reflectant paint could save Queenslanders money on their power bills was reported by 612ABC radio.
- Associate Professor Mark Lauchs wrote an opinion piece for The Courier-Mail where he said the State Government should appoint the next Chief Justice via a panel assessing a short list of candidates.
- Brisbane Times reported Dr Elke Hacker's research looking to harness the newest sunburn-prevention tools available to improve skin cancer prevention.
- ABC News and News.com.au spoke to Dr Kelly Richards about why paedophiles who didn't want to hurt children needed specialist counselling.
- Alina Dini's research into why Australian aren't buying electric vehicles featured on autotalk.com.au.
- Dr Sue Keay and the Australian Centre for Robotic Vision explained the future of agricultural robotics to Seven News Mackay.
- Dr Rebecca Spooner-Lane told The Australian most students who tracked their teachers online were doing it out of curiosity.
- QUT adjunct Associate Professor John Mickel told The Courier-Mail that former MP Gordon Nuttall was being released from jail with "a tarnished name and no resources".
- The Australian Financial Review reported Dr David Willis' warning that abolishing negative gearing could create a housing glut and house price deflation.
- Dr Claire Ferguson spoke to the Adelaide Advertiser about the difficulties of identifying the body of a young child found in South Australia.
- Associate Professor Molly Dragiewicz spoke to APN newspapers about the number of murders in Queensland related to domestic violence.
- Dr Mark McGovern told The Courier Mail the impact of the Chinese stock market slump on Australia would depend on whether it was a short term correction or a more "fundamental shift".
- BBC News asked Professor Brian McNair about the Prime Minister's boycott of the ABC's Q&A. He also wrote a piece for The Conversation on the ABC and BBC both fighting for their corporate lives following attacks from government.
