QUT has cemented its place as Queensland's top sporting University after being crowned overall champions at the 2015 Northern University Games for the third year in a row.
In what was a dominant team performance, the QUT Tigers secured 8 gold medals, surpassing their haul of six gold which saw the Tigers crowned champions in 2014, along with 5 silver and 3 bronze medals.
The QUT teams that took out gold include baseball, men's futsal, squash, men's tennis, ultimate disc, men's and women's volleyball, as well as the men's, women's and mixed touch football teams.
Silver medals went to women's basketball, women's futsal, handball, women's hockey and women's netball.
Around 240 QUT students took part in the games held in Toowoomba, in a fierce competition against 10 other universities from across Queensland and northern New South Wales.
The QUT Tigers will look to continue their success at the Australian University Games in September, held on the Gold Coast, where they will join more than 7,500 students from 42 Universities in competing for national honours.
