Kaya Lobaczewski, the girl with the must-have New York life who stars in QUT's newest advertisement, launched her international career as soon as she graduated.

Kaya , who at 28 is Tribal DDB's manager of global programs, graduated from QUT in 2001 with a business degree and started as an intern in DDB Seattle's planning department the following year.

"I chose QUT because it had the best business degree for what I wanted to do which was to work in a corporate career with a creative edge," Kaya said.

"I was also looking for a career that would allow me the opportunity to live and travel internationally."

After Seattle, Kaya joined DDB Sydney's all-department graduate training program and then worked at Tribal DDB Sydney for three years with multi-national clients such as Volkswagen and McDonald's.

"I moved to New York in 2006 and worked on accounts including Pepsi, Nokia and Philips. New York City living is a unique lifestyle and I've also had the opportunity to travel extensively while living here - I've been to Canada, Poland and Norway so far this year.

"Filming the QUT ad was fun. It was surreal to be followed by multiple cameras for almost a week. People in the street assumed that the crew were following someone famous and stopped to take photos of filming in progress which gave me and the crew a laugh. The end product looks fabulous and I found great new friends in the crew members."

In her role as global programs manager, Kaya has a fast-paced exciting work life coordinating information flow, developing global clients and infrastructure throughout the Tribal DDB network as well as organising Tribal DDB's worldwide management conferences and events.

"The best part of the job is that I get to speak with people from different countries and cultures from around the world on a daily basis," Kaya said.

"My goal is to continue to grow and become a chief marketing officer of a Fortune 500 company."
