- Business Acumen and Property Observer featured Dr Andrea Blake on why the 'Ghost house' tax won't solve housing affordability in Australia.
- A Conversation piece on flying cars by Professor Jon Roberts and Associate Professor Michael Milford made Techly.com, ABC Online and the Canberra Times.  Professor Roberts also talked to 2UE.
- Professor Robert Schweitzer was quoted in The Australian on addiction and his research into extreme sport enthusiasts, with Melbourne’s Leader newspaper network and Brazil Business Today also running the research by him and Adjunct Professor Eric Brymer.
- Brisbane Times talked to Dr Ronald Schroeter about electric bikes, with the story running across Fairfax.
- News that QUT’s Robotic Vision team had made the finals of the Amazon Robotics Challenge ran on the Morningstar business wire and Fox Network.
- The Courier-Mail and news.com.au reported how home educated children are outperforming their mainstream counterparts and quoted Dr Rebecca English.
- Associate Professor Gary Mortimer (pictured) commented on the retail sector ahead of the Budget in Smart Company. He featured in a national Nine News story on new online shopping apps, spoke to Nine about property owners generating a passive income from their homes, and told The Courier Mail the Budget might entice consumers to open their wallets more.



- Professor Tristan Perez talked to the ABC’s Rural Report for a national story on the progress of a two-year trial of robotic hand pickers for capsicum crops.
- Law lecturer Alastair MacAdam was interviewed on ABC Brisbane mornings about how unpaid tolls equate to a criminal offence, unlike missing an electricity bill or lawyer's bill.
- The Gold Coast Bulletin and Daily Telegraph loved Malcolm Burt’s virtual reality waterslide.
- The Courier-Mail’s Qweekend interviewed Dr Dipanwita Sarkar about declining rates of child-bearing, with the story also running across News Corp regional papers and metro sites.
- Professor Narelle Haworth talked to ABC Radio Brisbane’s breakfast show about boys not wearing helmets.
- The Western Star, The Village Pump and the Dalby Herald ran stories on how the injured should be added to the road toll, as advocated by Professor Haworth.
- Professor Jeremy Davey spoke to Seven News about latest drink and drug driving statistics.
- Research by a team including Dr Sonia White on Year 3 children with poor eyesight featured on 4BC, 2MCE, National Radio News, and Education Today.
- The Mail on Sunday and Melbourne’s Leader papers mentioned QUT research which found eating high-fat, high-carb meals can cause joint problems and arthritis.
- Brisbane Times ran a ‘where are they now’ on former Labor ministers, which included John Mickel who is now a sessional lecturer and tutor at QUT.
- Professor Elizabeth Beattie will be one of two Australian researchers to be inducted into the International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame, as reported by Health Times.
