A QUT STEMFEST event for National Science Week.
Join us For the love of Science, an evening to showcase our research in science and maths to high school students, parents and teachers.
Robyn Williams, from The Science Show, ABC Radio National will start with a one-on-one fireside chat interview with Erin Peterson, discussing how using maths and science you can engage citizens to better monitor and manage the Great Barrier Reef.
A one hour panel session with six QUT researchers will follow, answering questions from Robyn and the audience about developing solutions to environmental, biological and technological challenges - to gain a deeper understanding on their ground-breaking research. The evening will conclude with networking with science and maths PhD students and researchers.

Robyn Williams is a science journalist and broadcaster resident in Australia who has hosted a variety of programs on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) including Ockham’s Razor and the Science Show which recently celebrated its 40th anniversary.
He has conducted countless interviews with scientists on programs such as Quantum and Catalyst, narrated the Nature of Australia series, and appeared in World Safari with David Attenborough.

National Science Week is Australia’s annual celebration of science and technology. QUT STEMFEST brings together our expertise and innovations in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). QUT STEMFEST aims to encourage an interest in STEM among the general public and young people and provides opportunities and foster partnerships between the community, research organisations and industry.
