Work placements

Work Integrated Learning placements

We develop strong partnerships with law firms, community organisations, government bodies and overseas organisations that host our students on structured and supported work placements, which are part of the students' course.

Placements generally take place for one day a week over 12 weeks or as mutually agreed, for a minimum of 60 hours. We also facilitate virtual law placements whereby students and the host organisation liaise remotely. Students work on a project which furthers the purpose of the host organisation and benefits the community.

We ensure each student is well prepared and supported during their work placement.

If you are interested in becoming a placement partner, please contact the Placements Coordinator, Kaylene Matheson.

Real World Placement Program

The Real World Placement Program channels motivated students into placement opportunities that are not for credit toward their course. The program prepares students to engage in work experience and volunteering placements to contribute meaningfully to your organisation.

International student exchange

QUT collaborates with partners across the globe for student exchange and work experience.

We have also developed unique courses through our international partnerships, such as the World Intellectual Property Organisation-QUT Master of Laws in Intellectual Property.

If your organisation would like to create an international learning partnership, please contact our Manager, International, Serita Pinalli.
