International experiences

Employers value international experience and we encourage our students to take advantage of the great opportunities we offer for work and study abroad, or compete on the international stage.

Short-term international work placements

We facilitate short-term work placements in South-East Asia and the Pacific, including China, Indonesia, Japan, Bhutan, Myanmar and Vanuatu.

These programs provide wonderful opportunities for you to:

  • improve access to justice
  • gain an understanding of legal and cultural issues in another country
  • earn credit towards your degree.

You can also arrange international externships at a range of highly regarded organisations, such as the United Nations, the World Intellectual Property Organisation in Switzerland and the Asian Human Rights Commission.

Study overseas and exchange

QUT has exchange agreements with more than 200 partners worldwide. Many of our exchange partners are world leaders in their fields and deliver their courses in English.

Some of our prestige partners for Law and Justice include:

Competitions and events

As part of our mooting program, teams make their mark on the international stage, including at the Red Cross International Humanitarian Law Mooting Competition in Hong Kong and the International Criminal Court Moot Competition in the Netherlands.

Students are also encouraged to follow their passions at international events such as the United Nations Youth Assembly in New York.
