Paul J Hayes QC hosted one of the first QUT Faculty of Law Alumni Chapter events in Melbourne last week alongside Executive Dean, Professor Dan Hunter at the Essoign Club. The event provided the opportunity for past students to catch up with old friends and make new connections.

The well attended event highlighted a burgeoning sense of QUT community in Melbourne, thousands of kilometres away from where it all began at QUT’s Gardens Point campus in Brisbane.

Paul Hayes QC said, “I feel proud of what our Law School has achieved in only 43 years and seeing the fabulous roll-up of alumni at the event, was yet another piece of evidence illuminating QUT Law School’s excellent and still growing reputation around Australia”.

The School has produced a myriad of high-achieving alumni, ranging from Justices, Judges and Magistrates to Partners, Directors and CEO’s. Professor Dan Hunter, Executive Dean was delighted to attend and said, “As I settle into my role at QUT I am impressed at the number of remarkable and interesting alumni that I continue to meet, and tonight was no exception. I look forward to keeping in touch with our alumni community both nationally and internationally and exploring ways in which we can build a meaningful two-way connection”.
