QUT has recently welcomed 59 new students into the new Diploma in Health Science (HL10) program.

The first cohort received a warm welcome from Professor Ross Young, Executive Director of the Faculty of Health and Mr Kenneth Beutel, Director at QUT International College during their Health workshop this week.

The new eight-month diploma program provides students with a taste of what it is like to study Health at QUT whilst developing their English language skills to the required level for entry into selected health degrees. Diploma students benefit from additional academic and language support, small classes and more contact hours, allowing a smooth transition into their chosen bachelor program.

At the end of the diploma, students can gain direct entry into nursing, behavioural science (psychology), nutrition science, human services, social work, or public health bachelor degree programs at QUT. Successful graduates also receive advanced standing into selected health undergraduate degrees.

Ayush Goel from India selected to study the Diploma in Health Science as it provided the best pathway into QUT’s psychology degree. “Health is so important no matter where you live in the world. I see a big future for health professionals, both in career prospects and research potential,” Mr Goel said.
