We are a highly successful Australian university with an applied emphasis in courses and research. While we're based in Brisbane, Queensland, we have a global outlook.
With some 45,000 students, including 7,000 from overseas, and an annual budget of more than $800 million, we're positioned to grow and develop as one of Australia's leading universities.
A world-class university
QUT was ranked as Australia's top university under 50 years old in the 2013 Times Higher Education Top 100 Under 50. We were also rated 5 stars for excellence by QS Stars University Ratings in their 2014 ratings.
Our business school was the first in Australia to achieve triple crown international accreditation (EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA), held by less than 1% of business schools in the world - so your degree meets the highest international standards, and is recognised worldwide.
We were awarded 5 Stars in the 2012 Good Universities Guide for student success in getting a job after university.
In 2014, our finance masters degree was rated the best in Australia by the UK Financial Times, while our MBA and EMBA were ranked third and fourth in Australia by the Australian Financial Review in 2013.
Strength in research
We're always contributing to new knowledge in our areas of research strength. Our researchers work to find solutions to today's complex problems and issues. More than 85% of our research was ranked world-class or better in the Australian government's Excellence in Research rankings in 2010 and 2012.
Prepare for your career
QUT graduates get jobs. Each year more than 6,000 bachelor degree students graduate from our university. We continue to outperform Queensland and Australian average rates for graduate employment.
All of our courses are designed to enhance your job prospects, and we can also help you get industry-ready with:
- interactive career development programs
- career planning advice
- feedback on your CV
- workshops and online guides for job-seeking and preparing for an interview
- a career mentor scheme that links students with industry professionals.
