Step 8: Accept your offer

If your application is successful, we'll send you an offer letter and an acceptance of offer form.

If you receive a conditional offer you must meet the conditions, and show proof where required, when you accept your offer and return the form to us.

Read the Your Next Step booklet (PDF file, 991.38 KB) for information on:

  • accepting your offer
  • paying your fees
  • student visas.
There is no closing date to finalise your acceptance, although you must allow time for us to process your acceptance and send your electronic confirmation of enrolment (eCoE). You need your electronic confirmation of enrolment (eCoE) to apply for and receive your student visa from immigration, which can take up to three months in some countries.

I'm under 18 years old

If you're under 18 years old, we cannot issue your eCoE until you supply your under 18 guardianship form (PDF file, 210.14 KB), which will be sent with your offer letter. Your parent or guardian will also need to sign your acceptance of offer form.

Outstanding documents

Send any outstanding documents required to meet any conditions of your offer as soon as they are available. Ensure that all the documents are certified.

Documents can be certified by:

  • an official QUT representative
  • a public notary
  • an authorised officer from the institution that issued the documents.

If your documents aren't in English, you'll need to supply a certified English translation.

Financial capacity

You are required to have access to sufficient funds to cover the full cost of your stay in Australia for the duration of your studies. Full cost includes tuition fees, study costs and living expenses. We can help you to estimate your full study cost and the cost of living in Brisbane.

I've been offered a place, but I want to study a different course

If you want to study a different course, check that you meet the OP or rank score and the subject prerequisites. On your acceptance of offer form, cross out the old course, and write the new course preference on the form. We will confirm your eligibility for the new course and notify you.

I didn't get into the course I want, but I still want to do it

You may be eligible to take a pathway program to help you meet the entry requirements for your chosen degree, if you received:

  • an OP of at least 18, or a rank of at least 60
