Queensland's Chief Entrepreneur and CEO of technology enterprise Everledger, Leanne Kemp, will boost entrepreneurship and blockchain initiatives as an Adjunct Professor at QUT.

Ms Kemp said it was a truly great honour to be appointed as Adjunct Professor for the Institute for Future Environments at QUT.

“Through the research of places like IFE, we are able to tackle real-world problems. It’s this research which will help to spur innovation in Queensland, an already thriving sector, and it’s our responsibility as leaders in this industry to encourage more people to think outside the square and look to the future.”

During her term as Adjunct Professor, Ms Kemp will provide advice to QUT Entrepreneurship and IFE, collaborate with students in the blockchain entrepreneurship learning program, and engage with the university’s entrepreneurship programs, including mentoring.

For the first time since the role was established, her tenure as Queensland’s Chief Entrepreneur was recently extended for a second term. Ms Kemp she was excited to continue on as Queensland Chief Entrepreneur.

“I’ve met with so many entrepreneurs, innovators, startups, corporates, universities, schools and backyard inventors and it’s clear that there is a lot of innovation happening right here in Queensland and there is still further work to be done in finding the pathways needed to create true value systems.  It’s a humbling privilege to be chosen as Queensland Chief Entrepreneur in the first place let alone an honour to have this role extended!”
