You can even take your study global with an international internship or practice in regional and remote Australian communities.

Depending on the course you choose, you will be able to treat real clients at QUT Health Clinics and develop important patient care skills within a supervised environment. Experience in our clinics is available for students studying clinical exercise physiology, social work, nutrition and dietetics, psychology and counselling, podiatry and optometry.

The clinics are equipped with the latest technology, and are also open to the general public, which means that you'll work with real patients with a variety of health issues. You'll receive ongoing support from supervisors and practice specialists to make sure your learning is on the right track.

"I love that I’m able to improve the delivery of healthcare services from behind the scenes. The QUT staff had really strong industry connections that helped me secure my first job as a student health information manager and then my full-time employment at Ipswich Hospital."

Expert staff

Our students learn from the best. Our teaching staff and research supervisors offer an intellectual community that supports the generation of new knowledge and ideas.

Staff are recognised industry leaders and many hold joint appointments with QUT and senior leadership positions in leading healthcare facilities. Working closely with research facilities enables us to deliver programs that incorporate current research outcomes.

Supportive learning environment

We provide extensive support services to help you succeed in your studies. Our staff can help you create a course of study that meets your professional development goals and fits alongside your work and family commitments.

World-class research

We have one of Australia’s fastest growing research profiles. We invest heavily in facilities and technologies to advance research towards real outcomes like hospital treatment and medical devices.

The majority of health research is linked through QUT’s Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation (IHBI). Encompassing prevention, intervention and translation, IHBI is focused on creating better health outcomes in our lifetime.

Industry collaboration

The Faculty of Health hosts or partners in a number of leading research institutes, centres, and facilities that bring together experts from diverse fields of health. Our researchers work in multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites, including hospitals. These strategic partnerships allow researchers to work alongside clinicians and provide an opportunity to bring research outcomes to the marketplace.

"I work part time, I study part time and I support a family. QUT’s lecturers know exactly what it’s like to weigh up and balance the different elements of life. QUT has not only given me the skills and knowledge to be an advanced practitioner at the bedside, but it has also painted a bigger picture of how I can impact the health system."
