Study overseas and exchange

Semester exchange

Studying abroad is an exciting way to enhance your career prospects and create valuable industry contacts.

QUT's partnerships with many top universities around the world give you the opportunity to extend your horizons and gain credit towards your degree by completing approved units while you're on exchange. You can study one or two semesters at overseas partner institutions as an exchange student.

QUT offers travel bursaries to eligible students for semester-long student exchanges.

Contact Faculty of Health student exchange enquiries for more information.

Short-term overseas programs

Short-term overseas programs for health students are held at various partner universities. These usually run over the semester breaks (June-July and November-January) and are generally 2-4 weeks long. You can gain credit towards your degree and explore a new culture at the same time.

The number of destinations and places offered each year is expanding. Some destinations include:

  • China
  • Hong Kong
  • Indonesia
  • Malaysia
  • South Korea
  • Taiwan
  • Vietnam.

If you're taking part in a short-term overseas program, you may be eligible for financial assistance to cover some of your expenses.
