2027 Science & Engineering Challenge
Fun and interactive STEM challenges for high school students. \;
The 2027 \; Science &\; Engineering Challenge will be held at QUT \;Gardens Point Campus from February 8th -12th. \;
The annual Science and Engineering Challenge aims to inspire students in years 8\, \;9 and 10 to consider a future career in Science\, Technology\, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). We invite schools to bring between 16 and 32 students to the Challenge on one of the following dates:
The \;cost per school will be $300 \;(versus $540). This cost includes participation in the challenge (one team of 32 students)\, lunch for students\, and morning tea and lunch for teachers and staff in attendance. This fee applies to all schools participating in the Challenge\, regardless of their affiliation with QUT. We are in the process of looking for a corporate sponsor to help reduce the costs. \;
If you have any questions regarding fees for the Challenge\, transportation as a widening participation school or coming from a regional area\, please let us know. For schools looking to pay for the Science &\; Engineering Challenge out of their 2026 \;budget\, please let us know. Otherwise\, the fee for the Challenge won&rsquo\;t be due until April 30th\, 2027.
The Science &\; Engineering Challenge is a fantastic way for students to showcase their talents\, network with peers\, and gain invaluable insights into the exciting fields of science and engineering.
