X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:
Engineering Workshops 2026

Workshops developed specifically&nbsp\;to complement the engineering curriculum taught in high school.&nbsp\;

Student Ambassadors and academics from the Faculty of Engineering have designed and developed new engineering workshops to support the engineering curriculum being taught in high schools.&nbsp\;

From understanding Indigenous Australian engineering to&nbsp\;understanding logic gates using PCB&#39\;s and Mindcraft\, our workshops offer students and teachers the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of the engineering curriculum.&nbsp\;

These workshops can introduce the unit topics\, serve as a refresher before assessments\, or a fun activity towards the end of the term. These workshops can also be for schools that do not offer engineering as a unit but have students who are interested in engineering as a career pathway.&nbsp\;

We are currently offering workshops to support the following units:

Engineering Fundamentals&nbsp\;

Emerging Technologies

Civil Structures&nbsp\;

Machines and Mechanisms&nbsp\;

Additional Workshops include:

CAD workshops (Tinker CAD\, Fusion 360\, SolidWorks) to support students&#39\; skill development using CAD programming. &nbsp\;

Exploring the Future: Robotics and Artificial Intelligence&nbsp\;

Logic Gates&nbsp\;

Medical Engineering -&nbsp\;Biomechanics&nbsp\;&nbsp\;

Go Card Workshop (Digital Solutions)

Water Engineering&nbsp\;

Gears &amp\; Pulleys

Diversity in Engineering&nbsp\;

&nbsp\;

All workshops are designed for 2 hours and at the moment\, are offered here at QUT. To make an excursion a full-day activity\, engineering workshops could be combined with a tour and a meet and greet with QUT academics\, student clubs and or industry professionals.&nbsp\;

If you would like to book an engineering workshop please email Keith Alexander\, Student Engagement Coordinator at&nbsp\;keith.alexander@qut.edu.au&nbsp\;&nbsp\;with the following information:

Number of students

Year Level

Engineering unit(s)

Potential Dates (Provide at least 2)&nbsp\;

Arrival and departure time

&nbsp\;

&nbsp\;
